Welcome to AskHow.io ("AskHow," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of our websites, mobile applications, communications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.


1. Eligibility & Accounts

  1. Eligibility. You may use the Services only if you can form a binding contract with AskHow and are not barred from doing so under applicable law. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Services only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian.
  2. Account Registration. To use certain features, you may need to create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to keep your information updated.
  3. Account Security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
  4. Entity Use. If you use the Services on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and that entity accepts these Terms.

2. Changes to the Services or Terms

  1. Modifications. We may modify the Services, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" above and, where required by law, provide notice.
  2. Acceptance of Changes. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Services.

3. Privacy

Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy located at: https://askhow.io/privacy (placeholder). The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you. By using the Services, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described there.


4. User Content & License

  1. User Content. The Services may allow you and other users to post, upload, submit, store, or share content, including text, images, video, audio, code, instructions, and feedback ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.
  2. License to AskHow. You grant AskHow a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting or display, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use your User Content for the purpose of operating, providing, improving, promoting, and protecting the Services. This license lasts for as long as your User Content is protected by intellectual property rights and you have not deleted it from the Services.
  3. Removal of Content. You can delete your User Content. In some cases, copies may persist in backup or caching systems for a limited time. We may remove or refuse to publish any User Content at our discretion and in accordance with applicable law. Contact us support@askhow.io
  4. Representation & Warranty. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to your User Content and that your User Content and its use with the Services will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party or any law.
  5. Public Content. When you post or ask question in the chat, you understand that your content will be visible to others and can be indexed by search engines.

5. Acceptable Use & Community Standards

You agree that you will not, and will not permit or encourage others to:

  1. use the Services for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading purposes;
  2. post or share User Content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, exploitative, or that promotes violence, self-harm, or discrimination;
  3. share personal or confidential information of others without consent;
  4. upload malware or attempt to disrupt or compromise the security or integrity of the Services;
  5. reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Services except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by law;
  6. access the Services via automated means (e.g., scraping, crawling) other than in compliance with our robots.txt or an express written agreement;
  7. interfere with or circumvent any access or usage limits or paywalls;
  8. misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate any person or entity;
  9. engage in activities that infringe or misappropriate intellectual property rights;
  10. use the Services to provide professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or other) without appropriate qualifications and compliance with applicable laws and platform rules.

We may publish additional community guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.


6. No Professional Advice; Safety

  1. Informational Purposes Only. Content on AskHow, including any outputs, suggestions, or explanations generated by automated systems, is for informational purposes only. AskHow does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content.
  2. No Professional Advice. The Services do not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for questions in those domains.
  3. Safety-Critical Activities. Do not rely on the Services for safety-critical activities (e.g., medical diagnosis, emergency response, hazardous operations). Use caution and verify information from multiple reliable sources.

7. Intellectual Property

  1. Our Rights. The Services, including their design, text, graphics, code, and other content (excluding User Content), are owned by AskHow or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
  2. Limited License to You. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal or internal business use.
  3. Trademarks. "AskHow" and related logos are trademarks of AskHow. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

8. Copyright & IP Complaints

  1. Repeat Infringers. In appropriate circumstances, we may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Third‑Party Services & Links

The Services may contain links to third‑party websites, apps, products, or services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of third‑party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and privacy policies.


10. Beta Features & Experiments

We may offer alpha, beta, or experimental features ("Beta Features"). Beta Features may be incomplete or change without notice. We provide Beta Features "as is" without warranties. Your feedback about Beta Features is welcome and may be used without restriction.


11. Fees & Paid Services (If Applicable)

If the Services include paid features:

  1. Billing. You authorize us (and our payment processors) to charge you for all fees incurred under your account. Prices may change with notice where required by law.
  2. Trials & Renewals. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel before the renewal date to avoid charges.
  3. Refunds. Except where required by law, fees are non‑refundable. Certain jurisdictions may provide additional rights; see Section 18.
  4. Taxes. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or levies.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non‑infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error‑free, or that defects will be corrected.


13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AskHow and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Services, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, and even if a limited remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose. In no event will our total liability for all claims relating to the Services exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) [€100].

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such cases, the above limitations may not apply to you.


14. Indemnification

You will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AskHow and its affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your User Content; (b) your use of the Services; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity.


15. Termination & Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity).

You may stop using the Services at any time. You may also request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy.


16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  1. Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of [Canada/Alberta], without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer and reside in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you may benefit from certain mandatory provisions of local law, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

17. Communications; Electronic Notices

By creating an account or providing your email address or phone number, you consent to receive service-related communications. You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails by following the unsubscribe link. Notices may be delivered electronically and will be deemed received when sent.


18. Consumer Rights (EEA/UK and Other Jurisdictions)

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you may have a legal right to withdraw from certain online purchases within a 14‑day cooling‑off period; for details please contact us at support@askhow.io


19. International Use & Export Controls

You agree to comply with all applicable export, re‑export, and sanctions laws and regulations. You may not use or access the Services in, or for the benefit of, any jurisdiction or person prohibited by such laws.


20. Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions regarding the Services ("Feedback"), you grant us a non‑exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty‑free, worldwide license to use the Feedback for any purpose without restriction or compensation to you.


21. Miscellaneous

22.1 Entire Agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any supplemental policies constitute the entire agreement between you and AskHow regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements.

22.2 Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

22.3 No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of such right or provision.

22.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

22.5 Force Majeure. We are not responsible for delays or failures due to causes beyond our reasonable control, war, terrorism, labor conditions, governmental actions, or internet failures.

22.6 Language. Any translated version of these Terms is provided for convenience; the English version controls in case of conflict, unless otherwise required by law.
